Bosen Chicago welcomes students of all ages and fitness levels and offers Kids, Junior and Adult classes in every art.
OUR PROGRAMS
BOSEN CHICAGO has a deep respect for tradition. Although we embrace all the arts we teach, we teach each art in a traditional format by instructors wholly dedicated to their respective art. All of our instructors are highly qualified martial artists with a combined 55 years of teaching experience.
Little Lions/Little Tigers Club
Little Lions/Tigers Club is Bosen Chicago’s martial arts fundamentals program for children ages 3 to 5 years old. Little Lions/Tigers Club is a national program designed by the Martial Arts Industry Association and is taught at over 800 martial arts schools across the country. Little Lions/Tigers Club focuses on martial arts fundamentals and practical learning, teaching kids the basics of home safety, animal safety, colors, numbers and teamwork. Kids who participate in the Little Lions/Tigers Club enter Karate or Tae Kwon Do at an advanced level.
Kids learn martial arts fundamentals like kicks, strikes and evasions while learning important life skills such as stranger awareness, anti-drugs, health, nutrition, and exercise. The Little Lions/Tigers Club program provides children a whole-life approach to making choices that effect both their mental and physical health. The best part is no one sits on the bench--everyone is included! Little Lions/Tigers Club helps kids develop terrific life skills that teaches them to respect their bodies, their parents and their teachers, supports their pre-school and kindergarten curricula, and teaches the traits children need to excel.
Karate
Karate-Do Jitsu Kai Dojo
Karate-Do Jitsu Kai Dojo rooted in Kyokushinkai Karate, Bosen Chicago offers instruction in this traditional Japanese Karate form centered on the philosophy of self-improvement, discipline and focused training. Kyokushinkai Karate is one of the most rapidly growing Karate styles, with practitioners numbering over 12 million since its introduction to the West in 1964. Kyokushin kaikan training consists of three main elements: (1) kihon (technique), (2) kata (forms), and (3) kumite (sparring). Karate-Do Jitsu Kai Dojo incorporates all three of these elements in every single training session. We encourage all students to learn physical strength, self defense techniques, discipline, dedication and perseverance. Karate-Do Jitsu Kai Dojo offers classes for kids ages 6-13 in its Young Lions program. Karate-Do Jitsu Kai Dojo is open to students of all fitness levels and experience.
Tae Kwon Do
Chuy's Xtreme Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art combining combat techniques, self defense, sport, exercise, mediation and philosophy, and has been an official Olympic event since 2000.
Tae kwon do is a Korean martial art system of blocks, kicks, punches and open-handed strikes that also include various take-downs or sweeps, throws and joint locks. The art’s popularity has resulted in the varied development of the martial art into several domains, combining combat techniques, self-defense, sport, exercise, meditation and philosophy. Taekwondo is also used by the South Korean military as part of its training, and has been an official Olympic event since 2000. Chuy’s Xtreme Tae Kwon Do offers both junior and adult level classes, and welcomes students from beginner to advanced.
Jujutsu
Bushido-Ryu Dojo
(Way of the Warrior School)
Bushido-Ryu Jujutsu, incorporates Judo, Karate, Aikido, pressure points, submission techniques and grappling in this traditional Japanese art. Bushido-Ryu Dojo focuses on the Bushido code in its training, concentrating on form and technique while striving for honor, justice and loyalty and keeping the body, mind and spirit clean. Bushido-Ryu Dojo’s 3-hour intensive classes are designed for the serious martial arts student, and are open to students 14+.
Self Defense
Bosen Chicago is committed to ending violence and building safe communities. We provide community members with the tools they need to prevent, minimize and stop violence through a variety of specialized training and seminars for schools, employers, community centers and individuals.
Bully Program
Bosen Chicago recognizes that innercity kids face unique challenges in school, on the playground and on the streets. Bosen Chicago brings its Bully Program to your school and teaches kids how to handle confrontations, threats, awareness and safety in every aspect of their lives, from walking home from school to weekend adventures to dating among teens. We work with P.E. teachers, principals and after-school programs all across Chicago.
Bosen Chicago has conducted Bully Programs at Gulder Prep and teaches on-going courses with Chicago’s Miracle Center and the C.A.P.S. programs.

Capoeira
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, music and dance. Capoeira does not focus on injuring the opponent, emphasizing skill instead of damage. Attacks and defenses consist of evasive movements, rolls, kicks and sweeps, all to the beat of Afro-Brazilian music.
Classes are taught by Instructor Morrão.
